Black People Can't Rock

Recently in surfing the Blabbermouth page, someone mentioned that Sevendust is not metal, that it is just sappy rock especially since the latest album Seasons happen's to be their softest effort.

Well while chatting about that, they mentioned that black people can't rock and should just stick to rap.

Ater this ignorant post, their were a couple of people that mentioned that blacks are always bass players or singers. Never do they play lead guitar or drums.

Days later, other's commented about God Forbid and Suffocation having black players that are not just bassists or singers.

It really disgusts me about how people can be so stupid and ignorant to things that are going on around them. Being a metal fan, you would discover that there are a few bands that have black band members who are very talented and deserve recognition. However, these idiots even though claiming not to be racist, say that blacks can't rock.
We all know that most of rock if not all came from Hendrix, Chuck Berry, or constituted from the blues.

If the white artists themselves know this to be a fact then why can't these fools acknowledge that as well?

Just my opinion.  I welcome all comments on the

Crisis Gives the Audiences Something to Believe In
How could you not enjoy the unique sounds of the band CRISIS? A unique blend of progressive, artistic, and heavy music. They are not just musicians but they are artists. A band that seems to paint an original picture for anyone that attends one of their shows.

They don't care if anyone is not willing to open their mind, mosh, and enjoy the music. They give 110% plus while on stage. Karyn's vocals are magnificent and Jwyanza, Afzaal, Gia and Josh support her well.

They are a very tight unit appreciating each others talents as well as enjoying every moment on the stage.  This audience didn't seem to get it and probably never will but that doesn't matter to this outfit that has been tearing up the underground for 11 years.

Cheers to a truly Minority/Majority band!

Metal Can Be Diverse!!!

Benji Webbe of Skindred (Photo: Erika Kristen Watt)
I'm usually not a fan of genres crossing over.  The only collaboration that I sort of appreciated was "Walk This Way" and "Bring The Noise".  However, Carley Coma from Candiria (left) and Benji Webbe from Skindred (right) both have changed my mind about genres like rap, rock, and reggae coexisting inside the same songs and complementing each other well.

Both bands have a solid underground following, as well as influences as diverse from Miles Davis to the Clash. Benji and Skindred's "Ragga-metal" have caught audiences by suprise, while Carley and Candiria hit audiences hard with hard riffs and solid beats. Both frontmen are veterans of the music industry.  Carley and Candiria have been together for years and Benji is a veteran of the dancehall raggae scene as well as a member of the pre-Skindred band Dub War. Their bands have very diverse and diffrent cultures from Brooklyn all the way to the South of Wales. Both gentlemen are entertaining and exciting frontmen that give more than 100% to please the audiences day in and day out. Yet, some of us very close-minded, knuckleheaded metal fans won't even give these bands a chance. If it doesn't sound like "
Master of Puppets" or Slayer then it is shit. That is further from the truth. Bands like these can rock with the best, they just give a new spin to the ever changing world of metal!

So give Candiria, Skindred, and Crisis a listen before putting them down. Open you mind to new things and styles, you just might like what you hear.  If you are a fan GO BUY THE ALBUM and support them. Go see them in concert, cheer and applaud, don't spit! As Carley said
exposure doesn't pay the bills and Benji said just go buy it man!
