Adema headlined the show tonight at Subterranean and put on a great show. They were supported by three smaller bands that seemed to compliment them quite well.

Escape From Earth is a local band from Chicago that sounds like Creed, Sevendust, and Nickelback and puts on a great performance. They played songs from their latest EP called Three Seconds East. Two of them, "Yesterday" and "Beautiful" in particular caught my attention. If you're a fan of traditional hard rock with melodies, then you will enjoy their music!

Inept is another one of the many bands that sounds like some pop mixed with punk. I didn't really enjoy their set too much. I thought they were nothing special, nor did I think they should've been the 2nd band on. They played songs from their latest disc So Good that was released last year and at this point they are unsigned. Yet, I'm sure with the tide of signings for bands like Thursday, Thrice, My Chemical Romance, and The Used, they'll be rewarded at some point with a record deal, one of which they probably don't deserve.

After going outside for fresh air and eats during Inepts' set, I returned to hear a band that really caught my got me moving. American Standard was the hardest band of the night. They just released Decay Of Our Nation on indie label Mad Dog Records. This band truly deserves a shot at a major because their sound is a complete no-holds barred, brutalizing experience that any fan of Lamb Of God, Pantera, or Slayer would love. Clearly, the crowd was not responding to them like a true metal crowd should. Look for this band to be one of the shining stars in metal real soon!

Adema came on to the cheers from the crowd. They played several tunes from their latest release Planets including, "Sevenfold", "Tornado", "Enter The Cage", "Eyes Wide Open", and "Barricades In Time". Luke Caraccioli seems to be a perfect fit for the Bakersfield quartet, who recently inked a deal with Earache records. He voice is soothing for the slower songs and just rough enough for the edgier tunes. His high energy proved too much for us photographers when he kept running into the crowd to sing directly in front of the fans, as shown in my last photo below.

Surely, any fan of Adema will enjoy Luke in the lineup as well as the clean sound that Adema now provides. They are no nu-metal band, clearly they're a hard rock band that can show a softer side but can also kick some ass in the process.
