| Deconstruct: The Human Condition Apocalyse Records Metal has a million genres. A lot of bands are moving towards hardcore music, which seems to be a favorite amongst young metal fans. Then, there's emo, grindcore, death, progressive and everything in between. What happened to good old-fashioned kick your ass, in your face metal? The kind that ruled the 80's and couldn't be pinned into any category? Thanks to Deconstruct, hailing from California, real metal is ready to come back into form. Deconstruct shows their west coast roots with their new CD The Human Condition, to give metal fans the swift kick that they deserve. From the opening track of "Welcome To The End" all the way to the last, "The Human Condition", the band shows just how loud they are and at the same time they flex their intellectual muscles by not displaying mindless vocals. The thought provoking words of vocalist Skitz, cover such topics as everyday life, heartbreak, and the problems in the world. His voice is edgy like that of Trent Reznor. Most new bands demos or first releases sound choppy and raw. Deconstruct breaks that mold with perfect production from start to finish. The riffs of guitarist, Joe Fraulob, and hard-hitting bass lines by Venessa compliment each other well. Frost provides the pounding beats that pull all the tunes by this quartet together. Every song you can mosh and relate to. No doubt, I'm sure this band can put on a good show, as I anxiously await to see them this summer. You can tell by this CD that Deconstruct is ready for the big time and contributing to the cause of bringing metal back to its prime. |
