Karma: Here's a quick Speed Round of Questions for you.

Tony Byron: Okay

Karma: What's your mantra?

Dan Johnson: I really couldn’t say!

Tony: Dedication! I’m the kind of person that will do what I say I’m going to do…like I really do it. Like my day job at home, I am way into it…

Karma: What do you do?

Tony: I’m a carpenter and I love it! I’m like way into that, I’m way into music, I kinda started fixing cars a little bit and I’m way into that! [Laughs] Whenever something goes wrong with our van I’m like, “Let me at it!” I literally brought a set of tools.

Karma: Talk about dedication and being prepared… [Laughter fills the room]

Tony: So I’m ready to lay on the ground, for me its dedication.

Joe Talbot: I just always try to be me and get along with people

Mikey Van Heel: I get high a lot! [Huge smile crosses his face] [We all laugh] I like to party and have a lot of fun.

Tony: He’s honest!

Karma: That’s right…

Erika: …that’s all that matters!

Josh Nelson: I just have a couple of jobs that help to pay my bills so that I can keep doing what it is I want to do as I can dedicate my life to music.

Karma: Spiritual or religious?

Dan: Spiritual

Tony: Neither, it’s all mumbo jumbo! [Laughs]

Josh Nelson of DevilInside (Photo: Erika Kristen Watt)Mikey: What’s the question? [Smiles]

Karma: Spiritual or religious.

Mikey: Uhhh, spiritual

Joe: I’ll have to say spiritual

Josh: Spiritual

Karma: Favorite quote?

Dan: “There’s this thing called talent. They don’t have it!” It’s from Angels In The Outfield.

Tony: I don’t know, “Dude, where’s my car?” [We all laugh] I could quote something obscenely serious but… [Laughs]

Mikey: Can you come back to me?

Karma: Okay

Josh: “Why drink and drive if you can fly?”

Karma: Mikey?

Mikey: Oh, I don’t know!

Karma: You’ve had a lot of time to think about an answer…

Mikey: [Smiles] I know...

Karma: I’ll let you pass this once! [Laughs]

Mikey: [Laughs] Okay!! [Smiles]

Karma: Color?

Dan: All of them, they’re all cool!

Tony: Same thing for the exception of pink! I’m not a big pink fan, I don’t why.

Mikey: [Pauses] [Everyone laughs] [Waves hand in passing motion then he starts to hang his head]Mikey Van Heel of DevilInside (Photo: Erika Kristen Watt)

Joe: Black & blue

Josh: I don’t know, all of the colors in here are amazing! I wear a lot black so it’s really hard to pick but black makes any color look good!

Karma: Top 5 favorite movies?

Dan: The Last Temptation of Christ that was a fucking phenomenal movie; Blazing Saddles; History of the World: Part I, that movie is hysterical, when they get all the Roman soldiers stoned with that 12-foot joint… E.T., I like about everything in every movie but 200 Cigarettes sucked! That movie sucked, it was terrible!

Tony: Here we go: Caddyshack, Animal House, Christmas Vacation, Team America: World Police, which probably should be #1 but it’s not because I haven’t seen it enough times and Band of Brothers.

Mikey: I like all the Tarantino movies like Pulp Fiction, Army of Darkness…what do I need 3 more? [Smiles, we all laugh] This is a tough question… Uh….

Tony: Mike doesn’t like more than 3 movies!! [Laughter ensues]

Mikey: Those are the only 3 I like!

Mikey Van Heel of DevilInside (Photo: Erika Kristen Watt)Tony: He likes the Rocky movies too!

Mikey: Yeah, I do like the Rocky movies too!

Tony: I know what you like!

Mikey: I almost forgot about those!

Joe: Karate Kid part I and II, they are best ever because you have to watch the beginning of II in order to see the very end of #1, The Gremlins, The Goonies, Apocalypse Now…I really like Full Metal Jacket a lot too!

Tony: Dude, you only get 5! [Laughter fills the room]

Karma: I think he’s splitting the last one!

Tony: Cute, you’re squeaking out like that!

Karma: Now that he’s cheated, go head Josh.Josh Nelson of DevilInside (Photo: Erika Kristen Watt)

Josh: I work in a video store so this is a very hard question for me to answer. I’ve bought every movie they cutout or that they toss out. The only ones that stick out a lot are the Kill Bill Collection, it’s amazing, truly amazing. Definitely Army of Darkness, any zombie movie I love it! Donnie Darko, it was very good. I have one more?

Karma: Yes, you have one more.

Josh: Okay, Blow

Mikey: Oh, can I switch mine?

Group: NO!

Mikey: Please, I want to add Fear and Loathing!

Karma: Introvert or extrovert?

Dan: I don’t know…introvert?

Tony: Depending on which day it is!

Mikey Van Heel and Tony Byron of DevilInside (Photo: Erika Kristen Watt)Mikey: Extrovert

Joe: Introvert

Josh: I really don’t know

Karma: Favorite band tee?

Dan: Oh god! Sheez…Probably my Metallica Metal Up Your Ass shirt. That’s a really awesome shirt, too bad they fucking suck now! [Laughter ensues] Yeah that’s a good shirt, I like it!

Tony: My Entombed Wolverine Blues shirt; it’s my favorite.

Karma: Should have known Entombed was going to be in there somewhere.

Tony: Yeah! [Laughs]

Mikey: There’s this band called Creeping Charlie they are really funny…

Tony: Oh yeah!

Mikey: They have a fake bass player

Tony: He plays the bass but it’s not plugged in.

Mikey: It’s a joke band

Tony: They don’t write any songs. It’s all done on the fly! They’re just a mess!

Joe: I am a big fan of David Kent, so if it’s a David Kent shirt or a David Kent drawing, per se, I am a big fan of his work.

Karma: Oh, okay, Josh?

Josh: Probably my Def Leppard Hysteria 1987 shirt or my Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon shirt.

Karma: What's the most valuable thing you've learned in the Industry?

Dan: I really wouldn’t know because I haven’t been in the Industry that long.

Tony: Play as good as you can everyday and put out good CD’s.

Joe: These guys have taught me do your best, do what do… If you want to do something do it, if you don’t then don’t!

Josh: Definitely playing your best and as long as you’re satisfied…

Mikey: Give it your all!

Karma: If not music then what?

Dan: I can’t see myself doing anything else.

Tony: Producing or engineering

Mikey: I’d probably be like a lawyer or something! [Smiles, laughter ensues] Yeah!!

Tony: [Laughs heartily]

Joe Talbot of DevilInside (Photo: Erika Kristen Watt)Joe: I’d probably finish college, something my parents have been wanting me to do for years since my freshman year!

Josh: I’ve been looking into porno [Said with a dead panned expression. Hysterical laughter ensues]

Erika: And what would you do in porno, dare I ask?

Josh: I have a couple ideas, I don’t know! Once I get into it, I’ll figure it out from there! I really wanted to do that! [Laughs] But I will figure it out!

Karma: [Laughs] First job?

Dan: A bus boy in a Scandinavian cookery, do you know what lutefisk is?

Karma: The fish?

Dan: Yeah, it’s the stinkiest shit on earth! Yeah, we sold that stuff! It was hell, it was complete and utter hell. But I quit it and I’m happy now.

Tony: 12 hour days, 7 days a week watching cans of corn and peas go by…and if the machine got jammed up, I took a pliers, took the metal out. The cans would then go [as he mimics a whizzing noise] Again, I would do that for 12 hours… [Rolls eyes] I would be asleep on my feet…that was my first job! Minimum wage by the way! When it was only $4.25!!

Group: Oww…Ouch!

Tony: Yeah! [Laughs] But I was making lots of overtime!

Joe: I was a minimum wage greasy McDonald’s worker

Josh: My first job I drove 2 hours to the middle of nowhere from Minneapolis and I worked with my pops going door-to-door selling firewood and delivering it the next day.

Karma: Interesting!

Josh: [Laughs]

Karma: If you could travel the spans of time, which era would you visit?

Dan: I’d probably just stay right here, I like living in the present I don’t really worry about the past or the future too much.

Tony: In the 80’s, I’d play with bands like Megadeth, Slayer and a few other bands like Death Angel too.

Mikey: I’d go back to whenever that era of Beethoven was, back then…yeah! [Smiles]

Joe: I would have loved to seen the Ramones play, not when they got all stadium sized but when they first playing at CBGB’s, when hardcore first got started.

Josh: I’d have to jump back to the 80’s…It was a lot of good bands back then.

Karma: Sure was!! If you could take a bath with anyone, whom you choose to be your perfect bath mate?

Dan Johnson of DevilInside (Photo: Erika Kristen Watt)Dan: [Blows air out lips] I don’t know! I really couldn’t say.

Tony: Oh come on, you have to think of somebody!

Dan: Oh, okay! Malsteem!

Tony: Yngwie Malsteem? [Room erupts with laughter] You choose him for a bath? [Laughs] Jesus

Dan: Yeah [Laughs]

Tony: Interesting! Me, my girlfriend!

Mikey: I have to say…someone that can shave my back! If you can do that, then we’re fucking bathing!!! [Laughter ensues]

Tony: Oh my god!

Joe: Katie Holmes, I mean the first time I saw her in Go. If I could meet her and go out on a date with her…she is my ideal girl! I could just die right here! She is amazing!!

Josh: I’m greedy, I’m taking Penelope Cruz and Angelina Jolie. Now that would be a great bath!

Karma: Well thank you very much guys!!

Group: Thank you!!
