Slayer reigned over Chicago's awestruck Aragon Ballroom! This band has been kick ass and taking names for 20+ years and they STILL have it. As for the Jagermeister 2004 Tour marked the first time the band performed their 1986 epic release, Reigning Blood, in its entirety, which closed their immense set. The over zealous crowd chanted "SLAYER" repetitively minutes before the band took the stage.

The band performed a mammoth 1+ hour set. The flock of Slayer fans at times was singing louder than Tom Araya (for any cave dwellers, Tom Araya is the longtime vocalist of the band)! Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman, & Dave Lombardo are legendary musicians. This was truly one of the best shows I have EVER seen! Like fine wine, this band has aged better with time.

Killswitch Engage is Every bit As exciting as the Headliner. Killswitch Engage has become one of the premier bands in metal thanks to their latest release The End Of Heartache as well as successful stints on last years' Headbangers Ball Tour and tours in Europe. This stint with Slayer just added to the ever growing legacy.

Howard Jones continues to please the crowd with his hair raising growls as well as his melodic vocals. The band excited the audience with their signature songs including "
End of Heartache", "Fixation of the Darkness" as well as "When Darkness Falls".

The Slayer crowd which has been dubbed tough on opening acts was very pleased with the performance. KsE proves that they were the perfect opening act to one of the legendary metal bands of our time.

Mastodon Continue To Conquer America. Mastodon's blend of melody and thrash metal continues to impress fans and others.  In support of their latest release Leviathan, the band continues to bring superior musicianship to the table, as well as cutting edge vocals.

The crowd's reaction was one of deep appreciation as the guys performed some of their best tunes, including "Workhorse", "Where the Strides Behemoth", and "March of the Fire Ants" from Remission as well as
"Iron Tusk", "Seabeast" and "Blood and Thunder" from Leviathan.

I honestly thought Mastodon performed with such intensity it surpassed Slayer and matched
Killswitch chord for chord. If you haven't caught Mastodon in action yet, please make sure to see them soon!

Mastodon Setlist: Iron Tusk, Where The Strides Behemoth, March of The Fire Ants, Seabeast, Blood and Thunder, Aqua Dementia, Hearts Alive, Workhorse
