Q: Who and what event led up to the banning of Cannibal Corpse's

first three albums in Germany?

A: One event that led to the banning of Cannibal Corpse in Germany was the CC fan who raped and killed one woman and left another for dead. Soon after this disturbing event, an outraged teacher by the name of Christa Jenal, saw a student allegedly wearing a Cannibal Corpse "Butchered at Birth" shirt and went off the deep end! She then waged a personal war against CC and rallied an effective campaign that persuaded German legislation to ban the band from playing anything off their first three albums on German soil. The German government cited that ‘it promoted and supported acts of torture, the infliction of extreme violence and extreme cruelty.’ It even filtered down to the band signing papers not to play that material live while performing in the country.

 

Contest closed on 7/9/06. Winners were notified via email.
Consolation prizes were also given to random runner-ups who also answered correctly.
