“Candiria Proves They Are Better Off Alive”

This night would prove to be a good night for east coast metal band Candiria.  Their album
“What Doesn’t Kill You” has received great reviews from a number of publications as well as from yours truly.  The crowd enjoyed the old favorites such as “ ” as well as new one like the “Blood”.

Carley Comas’ charisma and showmanship came through all his vocals, with all his band mates following his lead.  The band was working through problems with the cymbals on Ken’s drum set as well as a kind of quiet reception from the Chicago audience.

Like the Crisis performance earlier in the month, this set stunned the crowd, urging them to think more instead of moshing and kung-fu dancing.  Carley and Co. were asking the crowd for participation especially for crowd pleasers like “The Nameless King” and “Beyond Reasonable Doubt”.  There were some Candiria fans in attendance who appreciated their set greatly.  As one guy said while walking out the venue, man I only came to see you guys!
“Phil and All That Remains Perform Like Headliners”

Phil LaBonte - Vocals
Oli Herbert- Acoustic & Electric guitar
Mike Martin - Guitar
Matt Deis - Piano, Bass
Michael Bartlett - Drums

As almost everyone knows, Phil Labonte used to be the lead singer of Shadows Fall. It’s well documented that the two bands have no hard feelings, they party together and have enormous respect for one another. The move seemed to help both bands and suits both singers well.

Phil matches Brians’ showmanship, vocal ability and passion.  He hypes the crowd up and roams the stage like a dictator on a warpath.  Oli and Mike’s degrees in music definitely show through each tune.  The crowd responded to all the songs by All That Remains, singing along as well as stage diving just as Phil commanded.

Even though both bands are from New England and have both achieved much success, All That Remains seems the stronger of the two. Their live set is tight and it is pure metal at its finest.

"Shadows Fall, leader's of the NWOAHM shows the crowd why they are the reigning kings!"
by Karma E. Omowale

Lineup:
Brian Fair - Vocals
John Donais - Lead Guitar/Vocals
Jason Bittner - Drums
Matthew Bachand - Guitars/Vocals
Paul Romanko - Bass

Step aside world and hand Shadows Fall their crown as the clearly demonstrate why they are the reigning kings of the
NWOAHM movement.  The boys put on one hell of a performance as it lit a fire beneath the asses of every attendee at the Bottom Lounge.  The band enjoyed performing tunes predominately from their newly released and critically acclaimed album entitled, The War Within.  Finally, Shadows Fall will be a household name remaining true to their craft without compromising their sound.  It will be hard for the band to return to their "underground" coveyhole.

The band banged out a 45+ minute powerful set that never let up.  As Brian cranked out the tunes, his bandmates backed him up.  I believe their performance should silence the critics that claim through all of the hype that the band has lost touch with their fans...how so?  Through all ofthe stage diving, devls horns that we being exchanged from the fans to band and vice versa.  This band cares about their fans to the tune of the guys hanging out after the set hanging with their fans!  Now does this sound like they don't care to you? The band represents well live from studio, Matt & John's backing vocals were clear as well as the band's instrumentation...it reigns supreme!!

You really need to catch these guys out as they will undoubtedly capture you in their whirlwind shows.  You will more than likely be spent after seeing these guys play!  They give 110% of themselves and more.

I wish much success to band as they will continue to climb the record charts with their latest effort and into the metal hearts of millions!
